Maintenance & Service

Fosscati offer full maintenance services to every owner of a Fosscati bicycle.  We also service other makes of motorised bicycles including Sachs, Rotary, Black Star, Grubee, Honda HuaSheng and almost any obscure make we are confronted with.

A Fosscati is a precision machine made with a lot of care and love and we are very fussy about maintaining them in perfect working order. You can read more about just how much care we take building our bikes on:

Here is a frame with both seat tubes snapped (obviously not a Fosscati bike!!). The frame has been fixed by welding with solid steel bar inserted inside tubes for extra strength and then the weld has been ground, sanded and sprayed with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of black gloss to match original frame. The frame has a new lease of life and you cant see the welds - thats Fosscati quality even though the bike itself isnt good enough to ever wear the Fosscati decals!

This bike was restored from scrap by a complete dissemble and rebuild with new cables, bearings, tubes, handlebars, grips, brakes, saddle etc. and is now a lovely ride.

We take a lot of time and care to make sure everything is set up and running to perfection.

Good to see you have finally put this page up Giacomo because, apart from the excellent quality of your bikes, the other main buying factor for me was the servicing and follow-up as well as the lengthy warranty period. I think this page will be of great interest to prospective customers.
    Best Regards,

Giacomo took my sad, dilapidated, rusty old bike and, for a very reasonable price and in no time at all, transformed it into a happy, sleek and shiny machine.

I love my new bicycle and can’t believe it is even related to its old self. He even added a basket at the front so I can do my shopping at the local farmers’ market, meaning that I’m buying locally and not using my car to do so — a double win for the environment.

I would recommend his services to anyone with any bicycle-related needs — motorized or otherwise.

    Grazie Giacomo!

My beautiful TREK crosstrainer was dying a sad, crusty death due to sea air and neglect. Giacomo took it under his loving care, and resurrected it into a fabulous street cruiser of which the like has never before been seen.

    Happy Customer

I really like your work Giacomo! Wish there were more people like you in the motorised bicycle business. Keep up the great work and your attention to beauty and detail.

I envy the customers in your area because around Sydney there is nobody who knows a thing about motorised bikes although there are plenty of people selling them. They are total junk compared to what you are building. It really is like chalk & cheese! The fact that you offer servicing & follow up etc is so different to the cowboys around Sydney. I just wished I lived closer to Byron Bay so I could get one of your bikes.
Congrats mate, keep up the good service cos I love your site.

Hi Paul, Thanks for your kind remarks. I do try to give my absolute best but I also have terrible hassles with some of my suppliers whose ethics are questionable. It is getting harder to keep the quality at the standard I want it at but I’m hopeful that I’ll soon be able to use dinky di suppliers and piss off the guys who are only in the business for profit. The fact that you live around Sydney doesn’t preclude you from buying a Fosscati – I use a local dinky di freight company (Cape Byron Removals) who are as fastidious as myself and can deliver my bikes in immaculate condition to most places at a very reasonable cost. I always try to use local Companies wherever I can.
Given that I cannot actually service your bike I can send you explicit Acrobat files showing you how to do even the most complicated replacement of say a gearbox shaft key or dirty carburettor etc. Not much goes wrong with a Fosscati and I will go to great lengths to keep a customer happy even if, as has been the case, they live in Darwin or Victoria. I just express-post the parts and email or post simplified picture instructions that anyone can follow. I also tell you the exact tools you’ll need and the cheapest place to get those tools. It’s actually not complicated when I spell everything out simply in picture sequences. I don’t charge for this – just for the parts and the postage.
      Thanks again,
      Gia

I am the envious owner of a rear engined Fosscati FG4 Nannini 4-stroke and it is the care and attention to detail in the building process that makes me proud of my Fosscati. It cruises along very quietly and it is totally reliable as well as being great fun to ride. I just wanted to tell people that Giacomo always ensures my bike runs in optimum condition. Nothing is too much trouble for Giacomo – he will down tools and attend to any needs I may have regardless of whatever else he is doing. The follow-up is almost as impressive as the beautiful bike itself although, I should add, nothing much ever goes wrong with it except the occasional need for maintenance and servicing. I try to keep the bike clean and tidy but if it ever gets dirty he cleans it during the service. I reckon the bike will keep running for a very very long time indeed.

Sue, I really appreciate your compliments. I really like my customers and want them to be satisfied with their bikes.
